LA Salle and University of Santo Tomas settled for a point apiece in the UAAP Season 79 men's football tournament as the two teams battled to a 2-2 draw on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Jose Montelibano scored in injury time of the second half to deny the Tigers of their second win in the tournament.
The Green Archers had to storm back twice in the game after Jayson Rafol scored on opposite halves for the Tigers.
Rafol scored his first goal in the 25th minute after La Salle failed to clear the ball off the free kick.
Marcus Garcia equalized 11 minutes later before Rafol once again put the Tigers ahead in the 50th minute of the game.
The Tigers looked poised to take all three points after that but Montelibano had other plans as he scored off a rebound in his own shot to salvage at least a point for his team.
The draw allowed UST to stay within the top four with seven points as La Salle stayed at fifth with six.
