  1. Badelic, Mulders & Muller are the newcomers in the Azkals' training pool. They replace Rob Gier(injured) , Tomas Trigo & Mark Hartmann.
Badelic is third choice GK for Global Fc....

    2. How the hell is Badelic in the pool? He hasn't played a competitive game for his club all season. Makes no sense at all.

    3. They cant have 4 GKs in the final squad , 3 is max.
Strange they only calling up 23 players, the same number as in the final World Cup qualifier squad

    4. Badelic played in the AFC Cup for Global FC and did well against clubs from other countries. I think he is a young goaltender who is in camp to gain experience and be exposed to a higher level of play.

    5. It's a precaution In case both etheridge and muller won't be around at the same time exposure to higher level training For Younger badelic, who has done well in AFC Cup
Only 3 goalies will make the final cut

    2. Badelic is a young goaltender who is there to gain exposure and experience. He probably won't make the final 3 goaltenders. Casas is a good goaltender but as an older veteran who doesn't have the potential to improve as much, he deserves to be either a #1 or #2 goaltender, which won't happen with the more accomplished Etheridge and Muller around, so it is better to have young goaltenders at #3 or #4 to give them more experience. Dooley has done the same in the past by calling up young goaltender Nick O'Donnell who didn't make it to the final roster either. Badelic did well against foreign clubs in the AFC Cup which is impressive for his age. I think he deserved to be invited to camp even though he might not make the roster on game day.

  5. Casas doesn't have the fighting spirit the team needs
He needs that in order to be called up again
If anyone wonder why he's not called up look at his track record: he was our first choice goalie but he left the national team in 2007 and was replaced by Etheridge since then
His reason for leaving? We don't know

    1. He didnt leave... he was not selected by the new coach who favoured Sacapaño. Nothing against eduardo i think he was an excellent keeper. But politics played a part in Casas' fate as national team keeper. And he was too short.

  6. Uzbekistan has a few ageing players in their line up. Maybe Dooley wants to match it with equally agey and rough players in Lucena, Guirado and Mulders. Lol.
