In Manila: All set forVisayas Classic

Excitement is in the air among football fanatics in Western Visayas as the much awaited Western Visayas Classic: Iloilo-Negros Occidental All-Star Football Matchofficially kicks off at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
For decades, the two provinces have been the source of top football talents in the Philippines – from agegroups to the national squad.
This friendly match, to be played before the game between the United Football League (UFL)-Philippines Selection versus the UFL-Rest of the World, aims to pay tribute to the great contributionsof these two provinces featuring the great talents of today’s Negrense and Ilonggo players.
Suiting up forMarjoAllado’sIloiloside include Stallion FC’s Ruben Doctora(team captain),Nathaniel Boblo, Bervic Italia andShermarFelongco; Philippine Army FC’s RoelGener, NestorioMargarse, Ricardo Becite III and John Cain; Kaya FC’s JovenBedic and Mark Evans Sorongon; Philippine Air Force FC’s Ian Araneta and Jesus Joaquin Melliza; JovanieSimpron of Green Archers United FC;Ronald Balisla-ong, formerly fromPachanga FC; Ceres-La Salle FC’s assistant coach Jason Cordova;WilsonMuñoz;Fidel Kueof JP Voltes FC; and FEU Tamaraws’ Noli John Chavez.
On the other hand, the Negros Occidentalsquad will be captained by Ceres FC’s veteran keeper Eduard Sacapaño, alongside his teammates J Baguiro, Jayson Panhay, Arnie PasinaboJr,Jalsor Soriano, CameloTacusalme and LemuelUnabia;Green Archers’Robert Cañedo, FlorianoPasilanJr,Arvin Gaspe and JimuelAriola; Team Socceroo’s Feb Baya,Gerardo Valmayor III and Benito RosaliaJr;Wilson dela Cruz of Philippine Army FC; Joshua Beloya and Janrick Soriano of Kaya FC;and Gerald Mark Layumas.
Missing this prestigious face-off is multi-awarded midfielder and Barotac, Iloilo-hailed ChieffyCaligdong who currently goes around the country for some coaching schedules with“TM Football parasa Bayan and Pru Life UK Football of Better Life.”
